why are people so evil to emo kids?

Why? They don't make fun of other people because they like rap music or other types of rock music! I think emo kids are so cool to hang out with and my best friend is emo. I actually LOVE emo music. They hate emos just because they express their feelings? And it is not true that only emos cut themselves(most of them don't) I've met people who are definetly not emo and they cut themselves. So why don't they just lay of the stereotypes? And feel freee to express your opinion and not hate emos just because other poeple do. Grow up and get your own opinions, not your friends'.
There will always be exceptions. I guess people hate all emo kids in general because the've met 1 or 2 "emo" kids who are whiny and get on everybody's nerves. But it still makes no sense to catergorize all of them under definitions of whiny and annoying!
Can somebody please explain this because unlike those people I have an open mind and I'm not so insecure and arrogant to think that all emo people are the same.

Someone with guitar knowledge...?

I'm looking into buying pickups for my SG, but don't know where to start. I'm into post-rock, metal, jazz, etc. and want pickups to accomodcate my musical interests. I've heard Seymour Duncans are pretty decent. Any thoughts?
