I want to start making music similar to The Postal Service, PlayRadioPlay!, and Hellogoodbye! What do I need?

I want to make electronica powerpop, but all I can afford is a 200 dollar keyboard. Anyone have any experience with synthesizers, and tell me what I need? Any computer programs that would help me for now?

Was the boogie woogie bugle boy of company B the 1st rap song?

The Andrews sisters made this record during world war 2. If you dont think it sounds like a rap song, say the lyrics as if you were rapping. As I recall Bette Midler covered it and it became a hit again, and when the black kids heard it on the radio they came up with a style of music that was unique, but definately derivitive of this song.
