guitar amp problems?

i am kind of new at playing the guitar i have played for about 4 months and my amp is only about 2 months old it use to play just fine then it kindda made a weird noise but still played fine after bout a month it would not play nymore the light is red indicating that it is on but it just wont play imnot sure whats wrong can u plz help me out cuase i really dont want to buy a new one and im not sure if it could be my guitar or the cord also the guitar and amp are an epiphone.
