The same band equipment they'll need the 2nd night, the 3rd night and so on for any show performed. You don't just bring a lot of equipment in for the first show and then slack off the rest of your career. I only answer them in the way their written unless I'm able to decode the 'real question' that must be hidden :-) Unless you really do want the obvious pointed out. Then your guitar player will need his guitar and his amp. Your bass player will need.... Surely you can figure this out on your own now. Your lessons are over grasshopper. You must go to the world now. Go.

sounds like youre not ready for a first gig...
if a band just plays blink 182 stuff, youre not that good
you wanna be good these days, you need a good guitarist, drummers just need a steady beat, bass is bass everyone can play bass, then youre lyrics are what people listen to most, and inorder for people to hear your lyrics you need excellent equipment if not it will just fade in the background. once youve played enough and practiced original songs, for example songs from system, nirvana, sublime, Rise Against the Machine, once you guys can play that **** on your spare time and add stuff in between youre gettin there. but just start to make your own stuff, then think about a gig, invite people to your practices and if they like what they hear, then you can start playing places, good luck. and if you need help booking places, send me some of your sample stuff, and im sure i can get you guys playin places weekly in your area.

First, check out if the venue has their own drum set, if not.. Well obviously you have to bring your own lol. And if they have amps and jacks, well just bring your instrument(and your own jack just in case the one's at the venue aren't working properly), your sound effect pedals (you know, distortion pedal etc)..

And like that guy said up there, a lot of self confidence. When you're up there, you gotta have attitude and showman ship. Don't just stand there! Move around, interact with the audience. And when you play, its just you, the music and the audience.

And finally, have plenty of fun. Its a great experience.

it depends on what the venue has. If the venue has a good sound system, then all you need is your instruments!

If you have to set up your own sound system then you of course need to bring your amps, and any speakers and mixing boards you have. Also if the venue is large you might consider drum mics.

Also for a first gig you need to bring plenty of self confidence!
When you get on stage, act like you own it!
