This song, from the musical "The Sound Of Music" is often played as a Christmas or holiday song, yet it doesn't make many reference to Christmas, i.e. "Silent Night", or the winter holiday season, i.e. "Jingle Bells. There are a few references to winter: warm wollen mittens, sleigh bells, snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyeleashes, and silver white winters that melt into spring, as well as one reference to gift giving: brown paper packages tied up with strings, but there are more references in the song to non-Christmas or non-winter holiday "favorite things". I do not recall this song being sung in the movie as part of a Christmnas scene. Why is the song "These Are a Few Of My Favorite Things" often played as a Christmas song or holiday song ?
