Madonna has just adopted one and Angelina Jolie looks like she is shopping for another one. Is this just a fashion statement? Aren't there any orphaned children in the UK/US that are destined for a life of poverty if not adopted. It also seem rather unfair that celebs use their enormous wealth to save one child when the others are left behind. Why not use the money to help alleviate the poverty of a whole community rather than one person? And is it just my imagination or do the children chosen for celeb adoption always look suspiciously cute? If this is a truly selfless act then why not adopt a child with some sort of physical or mental handicap? Most of these children would have a much tougher time surviving than an able bodied child.

Ok, I know this is just a bit of a rant and most of it is rhetorical but I would be interested to here other peoples views on celebrity adoption. Is it really done with the best interest of the children or is there a bit of vanity involved? Who can sa

I watch Passions and occasionally look at Days of Our Lives and Bold and the Beautiful and have wondered this.

If soap operas are supposed to be life-like, then it should show characters using the bathroom.

It's a 1950's model fender tele, with a chrome ashtray bridge cover. The bridge cover doesn't seem to fit on very snugly and rattles a bit when I'm playing, and feels like it might fall off.

How can a "style of music" that relies (For the most part) on crude samplings, Stays in one tempo, and uses bass and drums above all other instruments be considered a style of music? To say that rap is music is like saying that a drum roll or a power chord is music; It's too one dimensional.A revolutionary vocal technique that can be used to compliment legitamit forms of music? Yes.A form of urban street poetry, and thus, a valid artform? most certainly. But music? I hightly doubt it..............Your thoughts please.

Over the years, I've had a LOT of jobs: Barman, labourer, furniture deliverer, carpenter, mailman, secretary, typist, light-bulb seller, security trainer, site manager, fruit picker, fisherman, potman, scaffolder, burglar alarm maker, factory worker etc. etc.

Of these jobs, I've hated about 80% of them, and the remaining 20% have all had major downsides (working with idiots, too much time spent at work, getting attacked, endless monotony etc. etc).

However, the job I'm at now (I've been here for about a month) is really hard and stressful, but I just realised today how much I like it. It's my first really important job (i.e. people die if I screw up), I pretty much keep my own hours, I don't really have a boss and the people I talk to all day are really friendly and appreciative.

Does anyone else really like the job they're in?
