This doesn't mean they will, it's a what if question. I think they should bring in Mr. Sinister as the villian who resurrects Jean Grey and Cyclops to create the perfect mutant.
Storm should return as the leader. Wolverine should go do his spinoff. Gambit should be included as the new hero, wooing Rogue away from Iceman (new love triangle) and Nightcrawler should return.
What does everyone else think?

in episode 1: he told qui gon they will not train the boy.
in 2 or 3: he said i dont trust anakin.
he also told anakin that he is not to be granted master to make him feel bad.
these made anakin feel bad and turned him to the dark side. the emperor kindly welcomed anakin who must have felt left out.
