I was just watching a movie and they said "open sesame" and i just started wondering how that phrase originated. I mean, to me, the word "open" is obvious. The word "sesame", to me, is a type of seasoning. So that's where I got confused. It sounds to me like someone needed to think of some sort of password, so, being a big fan of seasonings (or perhaps food in general), they decided to go with "Open Sesame". That's just my theory. I want to hear the truth behind it, or else just other theories behind it. Thanks.

i'm trying to find this movie that i watched as a child. it came out in the early 90's. it was a sing along video. a boy and a girl were taken to a forest to celebrate a birthday party. the songs in the video were "head and shoulders knees and toes" "little bunny foo foo" "skidda marinka dinka dink" and there were tein boys that sang the alphabet backwards. that is all i kno. if anyone knows the title of the movie i would greatly appreciate it
