The boat's 30ft LWL 25ft with 4000kg displacement. Maximum prop size is 13 in. Hull speed is about 7kts maximum. One engineer says I need to replace the old Watermota 33hp petrol engine with a minimum 28hp diesel. The other avers that a 16hp diesel will be right. Quite a gap in size and price! Cost is of course an issue, but so's safety. Here's the dilemma. Would anyone care to make observations?

I just purchased a 1987 Bass Tracker Bass Boat and I am looking for suggestions and information on Anchors that actually will hold the boat when the wind is blowing. I fish at Silverwood Lake in Hesperia CA, and the wind can get pretty bad at times.

I am not sure of the weight of the boat, but since the boat is only a aluminum boat it should not be too bad.

I need something that will hold no matter what. A big bonus would be a anchor winch that will be able to support this type of anchor. The anchormate series can only handle a 18lb anchor and uses a type of crank that is completely different that what is already on the boat.

If anybody has any suggestions or help, thank you.

I recently heard you can make up to 100 Euros an hour cleaning on the ships.
Is this true?
