I might start working for a company as a contractor and I heard the taxes are higher, is that correct? or it only means instead of the company withholding the taxes, I have to pay them myself. In other words, is it the same tax rate? Thanks,

He is an angel and I want to pay him back a.s.a.p. I plan to basically "lower" my salary by $300.00 per month - I don't know what the tax repercussions are. Since we're both in agreement does the government even have to know?

ithink there should be a cut off to the amount of money you earn as to the tax you get taken. because it seems to me that no matter how much overtime i do to improve my finances i never seem to be any better of ,it seems so unfair, what do others think?

I need help with these questions.
Evaluate the impact that the fair tax might have on a business:
1) what might happen, in general to the firm's demand?
2)what impact would an inelastic vs. elastic demand curve have on this tax?
3)what would happen to the firm's cost structure?
4)how would firms' that are heavily dependent upon foreign sales be affected?

I'm considering asking for a $50,000 loan from family to help me make a $100,000 down payment (in order to avoid PMI). This loan would accrue interest and I would make payments on it like any other loan... Could the interest be tax deductible?

If not, is there another way to go about this that would be effective?

I have contacted the person to request their SSN several times and they haven't called me back. I already filed my tax return which reflects the payouts as contract work. I'm sure not filing the 1099 will result in an audit -- if I have the cancelled checks that show payment to her -- will that help?

Can I file the 1099 without a SSN? What should I do?

I'm not sure if there is a solution to this, but.... I've been paying back child support for when I was unemployed and my taxes have been garnished for three years now. I've got no problem with this, but I'm remarried and we are expecting a BaByGirL any day now. How do I go about making sure that next year my taxes will not be garnished away from my new BaByGirL? I want to make sure the IRS will know that I will be claiming my baby and that they won't take it all. Please, any and every helpfull answer is greatly appreciated... thanxs and Be Blessed :-)
