It's not possible to say without knowing a LOT more information. A basic 1040EZ (which you could do yourself in 10 minutes) typically costs $50 at most places. A complex return with multiple schedules and a lot of bookkeeping work needed to crunch the numbers can easily run into the thousands.

It is impossible to answer your question without information. Do you have a business? Do you have children? Do they go to day care? are you a student? Are you very low or high income? Do you own a house? Medical bills, work expense? Your question is impossible to answer, unless you are wondering the price of a blank 1040, that would be free.

Well lets see. In the capitalist world, the real world, anything is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.
So, to that end, what is it worth to you to do it yourself? How does that equate to you ability to pay someone else? Do you trust them?
But if you get behind and support the FairTax act, AND if it passes, this will never be a problem again. www.fairtax.org Ashford Schwall
