Generally when an institution sells a stock or bond short, the balance of that sale is invested in an interest-bearing account and rebated back to the short seller as a "short rebate." My current broker, Fidelity, does not offer short rebates to its customers. Do any of the brokers that give accounts to individuals offer short rebates?

I purchased a few stocks a while back and they are now too cheap to sell. Their value is so small that my online broker will not allow me to sell them, since the revenue would not cover commissions. Is there a way to get these off of my portfolio?

I am very interested in the stock market, but am finding it difficult to locate a broker who knows the ins and outs of dividend stocks. What I want is known as DRPs and DSPs - these type of stocks generate dividends on a regular basis which are paid to the stockholder by the company who sells the shares.

i recently transferred my $ from etrade to zecco, because i heard zecco offers free trades (for stocks). i dont mean to throw accusations, but i believe these guys are stealing from their members. You see, every time i try to buy, i end up paying 3 cents more than the actual price of the stock (per share). so if the stock is 44.90 at the instant that i bought, they charge 44.93. i know 3 cent is not a lot of money, but if you are buying 1000 shares thats a $30 difference. Has this happened to anyone else?
