if you are interested in investing in a foreign country that belongs to the WTO, are there laws and regulation that are there to protect you as an investor? where can i find more information about this?

Pretty much all countries that have any size of economy and a lot that don't are members of the WTO. This is of no use to you as an investor.

Second: if you have an account with a US stockbroker, your account is governed by US law, even if you are buying foreign securities.
