Search Engine Optimization

Hello guys I have little confusion about seo optimization. My question is that suppose a domain name that is 14 year old has 6000 links (check by typing link:www.domain.com). On the other side there is a site that is 8 year old and has 3000 links. Which domain will come top in the search assume that they both are optimized for the keywords. How big of role does domain age play when it comes to seo?

I would like to make an advertisement, which has a unique phone number only for that ad. Then be able to track the ad by how many people called the number. This way I could see how many people called the number from the ad. How would I get this type of phone number and tracking?
