I need an alternative document that reads Google Adsense Terms and conditions in layman's terms. I'm afraid i might miss out some details because of technicality.

Hi there.

While I don't have a way to provide you the Adsense TOS in laymans terms this answer might be helpful.

The Adsense TOS is important but i don't think there is an absolute need to read the entire document. I have been in Adsense marketing a long time and have never personally read it. In fact I don't know anyone who has read it from start to finish...

The main ways you will violate the Adsense TOS are:

1. Making a page that is for showing Adsense ads and has no other purpose. These are usually crappy, spammy pages and are easily idenfitied. If your site provides good information and has a relative amount of good content, it shouldn't violate this.

2. Encouraging in any way, people to click on your ads. This includes any prompt that is visual, auditory, implied or otherwise. If you just put the ads in the text of your page or in a header or sidebar you will be fine. Illegal things include writing "click these ads", drawing unneccesary attention to the ads with arrows, by putting them in frames or things like that. It should be obvious when you are doing something illegal in this respect.

3. Adsense on sex or gambling sites: Enough said: It's not allowed.

4. You are only allowed to put Adsense on a page with 3 text or picture ad blocks and one search bar. Having any more adsense than that might get you in trouble.

Other than that, just use common sense and you should be fine. If you are going to do something that you feel might be problematic in the eyes of the big G, you could try posting in a forum or emailing them yourself to make sure. They won't ban you unless they have to, remember when you make money from Adsense, they do to!

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Andrew
