I have always had hand me downs and most are ugly, not my style, and kiddy-ish but now that I'm starting to make money, I want clothes that are more fashionable, sophistocated, but still cute and prep. I am long and lean (5'5 and about 100 lbs.) and need clothes (and shoes-size 8) that fit me. I also prefer a bargain. (I live an hour away from the Seattle area). Any suggestions of where I should start looking??

i would love to make a prom dress that is basically to floor length, which i would like to have a basic shell, covering with the yards i have to work with...if anyone reads Vogue, and just bought the september issue....the John Galliano dress that Kirsten Dunst was wearing for the photoshoot about "Queen Elizabeth"....the white dress with those pink/champagne silk ribbons and an overall white background with the trims is the basic style that i would like to work with.....i am assuming it would be safer to follow a pattern first...and then attach any additional accessories (ribbons, ruffles, trims....) afterwards.....is it supposed to be cheaper if i make the dress myself (despite the fact that it's definitely time and effort)....i would much rather prefer making my own prom dress compared to buying because i am planning to major in fashion design/studies so i am extremely excited to start this project.....thank you so much for all your help guys...and fashion fanatics!!! HELLPPPPP!!!!!

New clothing is extremely overpriced. I have found good clothes that are in excellent condition in thrift stores. Some shirts or pairs of pants only look like they have been worn only a few times. I have also found this to be a good place to find clothes for work. In my view, thrift stores are a good solution for a person that is in a financial bind. And you can look like a million bucks without paying a million bucks. Ain't no shame in going to a thrift store.

This is a SERIOUS question for guys (or girls who have talked to their guys about this subject). Meaning I want SERIOUS, no BS answers. I want to buy my guy some new jeans and am curious what brand names you guys find comfortable to wear when you go without underwear, freeball, go commando, etc. I do not want to buy him something uncomfortable. If you have a favorite brand, then please tell me what style you like to wear this way. This will help me. Thanks!!!!

Am I the only one that remember when Jordans were so popular that every kid had to have them? Okay I'm 28 and I remember in high school between 10-13 years ago all the kids in my school was crazy about Jordans, now fast forward years later, i'm seeing teenager that are paying the same prices for the exact same shoes the kids in my school wore years ago. But these kids were so young they probably don't remember the shoes, so they go out buying these shoes and they believe the shoes just came out. My 7 y/o son wanted the "new Jordans" and I told him that those shoes aren't new. I feel like I'm in a time warp, but maybe the shoes are cheaper now but I remember in high school kids were paying $120.00 and probably more for the shoes I see the kids today wearing. I hardly ever see people my age with them because they know the shoes aren't new. I've also seen people wearing the Jordans that came out back when I was about 10 y/o, why are parents spending money on "old shoes". What a rip off.

It's like silk but it's heavier than silk. It's shinier when in light like silk as well. Here is a picture of it if you could please take a look at what kind it is. It's on a vest but there are no tags saying what kind of fabric it is. Thanks so much to anyone who can help.

Websites with clothes that are in style for a woman who is 25. Some for professional reasons and some for hanging out and being out on dates, or just out with friends.
