have u not heard the tales of "the dark dryer"??? once, there was a dryer so foul and evil it demanded a sacrificed child every full moon. the villagers refused, and the dryers wrath was terrible. it devoured all there socks before disappearing into the chill winter night. there are those who say this haunted appliance will return one dark evening, to claim our socks and so spell the doom of humanity. none can stand in its way, for it is death incarnate.....

Great mystery question that many generations are dealing with since the invention of the dryers. Most people unfortunately do not take the question too seriously and that is a shame because so many of us suffer from great consequences due to walking with unmatching socks...Example: The famous Greek philosopher Sockrates was originaly called simply Yoanis- a common Greek name, but since he kept losing his socks he walked around with unmatching socks with sandals so his friends (Pluto and others) gave him the nickname Sockrates which means two different socks in Greek.
So, I will give you a serious answer and hope you will never lose socks again(...)
I am not sure myself but I found some of them in sheets or in shirts etc' especially the syntetic ones.
In Walmart and other stores you can find a kind of net bag where you can put only socks and this will keep the socks together in the washing machine and the dryer .
Now, if that won't help then I will give up and walk with flip-flops even in the winter....

You've got the case of the Sock Snatcher! I did too until my mom told me about putting my socks together when I wash AND dry with saftey pins. While you are sorting the laundry, put your pairs together with a saftey pin on the toe or cuff. Throw them in the wash, then in the dryer and you will never loose a sock again!

I have a theory that there may be unstable wormholes forming in washing machines and dryers throughout the world. The wormholes lead to a sock planet, full off odd socks.

Same with hidden keys, remotes found in the bathroom and how did my left shoe get in the back seat of my car?
I think the Lost Boys will always have a clean pair of socks to wear, they just will never match.
