i can understand this, but a greater love can be developed through knowing every thing about a person. when two people are truely in love, this love creates a change in them both, and they continue to change little things. they are always growing deeper. so the mystery stays alive, because there is always more to be. the wonderfull love sets our creativity free........what do you think

to me, children make you smile
they keep you in a young frame of mind, you do not have to act professional around them
i enjoy to watch them leaen things and to teach them
their continuous happiness keeps you happy
you can also learn from your children, they are not afraid of failure usual and watching them, you can learn to set your mind free and go for your dreams
on your worst days, your children are the ones that have that special ability to emediately cheer you up
they give you a reason to endure the pressures of the world and make it back home

For those who don't know, omphaloskepsis is a word you won't find in all dictionaries, but it refers to the practice of meditating while contemplating one's navel.

The different ideas must represent different ideas.

=> The different ideas must not represent same idea.

We differ only if we do not represent the same.
We try to make a difference. But we never make a difference.

What exactly is symbolic logic? Also, Im quite new with philosophy, but was interested with logic from the beginning. Have I stumbled upon something that is of another category itself? It seems that Symbolic Logic is dealing with mathmatics more than philosophy, however, others have said that it is an essential study for any philosopher. I suppose my real question originates from the curiosity of how does it exactly assist in philosophical studies?

Think before you answer. The person has always been blind. Don't say "green is like the smell of freshly cut grass." How do you actually expect the blind person to understand that?

Thanks.

Forget all you know about your life. Imagine you are an alien race that just discovered a planet inhabited by strange lifeforms. Anyways, you get there and blend in, and you notice that the natives are divided into "factions", if you will. In order to keep up your charade, your kind must inevitably join one of these factions. You notice that all of these factions think differently, they all think that they are right, and most only care for themselves. Some are killing others, and most of them are killing their own kind as well. In your group, there is dissention over which faction to join. Then one of your scouts comes in with a message that he had found a new faction not yet considered. This faction, unlike the others, is devoted only to saving the other factions from their terrible, self-imposed fate, but also to serving the other factons as well.Though they are hated among all other factions, they advocate love and forgiveness. Logically, many of you join them. What would you do?

Is the profit motive in 'treating disease' ignoring some basic truths about 'parasitic' causes?

Do you recall the history of 'ulcers', well they were falsely believed to be caused by 'stress' until they found a bacteria that casued them.

Well one person I know very, very well spent some 16 years suffering from 'intestinal problems' labelled IBS, or Crohns only to find literature that suggested that this 'illness' or symptoms were caused by a 'parasite' of sorts; giardia is the most common.

Logic would suggest that even common bacteria like giardia require 4-5 tests to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that you don't have this common bacteria.

If you do, and the tests can't find it, then you will suffer symptoms from anemia, depression, and a whole host of other symptoms.

The question is a simple one, is today's medicine so concerned about the profit motive in treating symptoms rather than a simple cause of many illnesses like Cancer , depression, Schizophrenia; parasites?
