If you understood Decartes, then you would not be asking this with: "I think therefore I am"
What that stands for is that he can not deny himself to be, it is clearly and distinctively true. For even if he were to be in a dream, or to be deceived by an evil entity, then it was still HIM, and therefore he knows that he must exist. It has nothing to do with the fact that he chose to exist.
It was the will of God, according to Decartes, why I was born. Not an evil deceiver or of my own record.

Well, Rene Descartes would certainly agree with you, although I admit that I do not.
I do not think that I decided to be born. I have no recollection of it, which does not necessarily mean that it did not happen, but it seems that such an important decision would be memorable at least in some form. I doubt that it's a matter of decision; one's personality is due to an incomprehensibly complex series of physiological interactions, but I also believe that the soul has something to do with it. I gather that you also believe in a soul of sorts. But I have no motivation as you put it, because it really does not seem plausible that people decide to inhabit a specific body and then be born. If people choose to be born as a certain person, why are there billions of starving people with no civil rights in war-torn countries? Why did they choose to have such difficult lives when they could've chosen to be a rich celebrity? I think that fairly well disproves the idea of deciding to be born.

There is a whole science developed to 'experience' the answer to these question, not just 'know' through words.
But it requires much deeper preparedness to seek the answers. Any casual expression of words as an answer would be just another set of 'stories' , of at the most, some entertainment value.
But a person is prepared to look at a possibility with an open mind, then it can be said that it is the propelled direction of the force and intensity of our own desires, that takes shape in our birth wherever and in what ever form it happens.

I think I was just lucky. Also, I was born female, and I have been very happy to be female in the 20th century. I don't know if I was here before, but I don't feel alien in my own body. Maybe, I am being given a chance to enjoy being alive.

Ahhhh! The defintion of consciousness. Hummm. When the brain reached a certain level of maturity, I joined the human race. Prior to that I was a muling bit of animated life. I couldn't even see and my hearing was terrible. About all I could do was feel.

We had nothing to do with our birth. It was the Almighty God that has control of that. Man simply plants the seed with pleasure in the womb but God forms the person to be.
(Job 31:15) Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?
(Ecc 11:5 )As thou knowest not what [is] the way of the spirit, [nor] how the bones [do grow] in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.
