Inward fragmentation. Having divided the world up, country, religion etc you and them.
We then have to maintain it.
My needs against your needs, my god against your god.
We are always at war, defending our little self.
Outward war is simply an extension of this.

War is a consequence of non-fulfilment of expectations, strong desires, etc... By itself, psychological conditioning cannot be a root cause, because it depends on the type of conditioning too, which has to contribute to the source of fulfilment of such desires.
