The city itself was in what was East Germany. How then, was West Berlin able to function? If the city was surrounded by communist territory, why weren't the communists able to control the entire city? Who erected the Wall - West Berlin or East Berlin.

I do wonder if the Japanese people in general really knew what occurred during World War 2? Do they know that there is something different in their history books as compared to other nations in the world?

I live in a country that was occupied by the Japanese. It was not a happy time. The stories are fantastic but you cannot dismiss them as fantasy because you hear various versions of the same event, of the same practises from different families and friends.

I am not about rehashing anger. But I would think the the truth is important. And those that do not know their History are doomed to repeat it.

I answered a Question (currently in voting) about Frederick the Great. My answer started as follows: -
“His greatest achievement – and that for which he deserves his nickname as ‘The Great’ – was as a brilliant general. Frequently fighting against great odds, he led his troops so skillfully that he won most of his many battles, and was the victor in two major wars.”

4 or 5 days later, another person answered the same Question with these words: -
“He was as a brilliant general. Frequently fighting against great odds, he led his troops so skillfully that he won most of his many battles, and was the victor in two wars.”

That plagiarized “Answer” is now leading the voting. But I guess that’s par for the course here on Yahoo! Answers.

Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, without any help. He fired 3 shots, but none of his shots missed.

Shot 1: Hit Kennedy in the back of the neck (bullet did not exit)
Shot 2: Hit Governor Connally back, chest, wrist, thigh
Shot 3: Tore off the right side of Kennedy's head
*Bullet fragments from shot #3 cracked the limousine's windshield and made a dent in the chrome
*James Tague was hit by a bullet fragment from shot #3.

I am a functionalist. Face it, there is no documentation linking Nazi officials to the holocaust, it was initiated by the German bureaucracy of the time. Heinrich Himmler may have been connected, but there is nothing to suggest Adolph Hitler was.
