We will be there two nights, three days. We do have a car. Is there any villages or towns close by, worth driving to, to see any attractions, etc.

-Thanks.

This is the No. 1 complaint I have BY FAR about Germany.

WHY, in the face of overwhelming evidence and an infatuation with fitness, diet and appearance, do so many Germans not only have this absolutely FILTHY habit, but also a tolerance for it that borders on stupidity?

WOMEN seem to be the greater culprits for reasons that have never been adequately explained to me in nearly 23 years here. Last week I saw what appeared to be an otherwise caring mother with two small children -- a toddler and one in a baby carriage -- bent down in at the Hauptwache in Heidelberg toking away right in their faces! Seriously, was this woman completely INSANE?

I ask women why they smoke and the answer I is get most is "Stress." Give me a BREAK!!! What in the world would German women have to be stressed about? Perhaps that Lidl ran out of warpaint?

This NASTY habit is dangerous to many and ruins meals too! When is the German government going to do its JOB and at least ban it in public places???

I know practically no German, but love the history and want to experience the culture and its people firsthand.

And when do you say, thank God I'm no longer in Germany...? Better said, what's great about living in the States?

My husband and I went to Germany a couple of years ago and we just loved those pillows, but we can't find them. I've tried a few online sites, but I don't know what they're called and I can't seem to find anything but the fluffy ones you can buy here.

My boyfriend and I are starting to plan a trip to Germany. We were thinking of visiting three or four cities, do you have suggestions? We were thinking of Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and Cologne. Are we missing a major one, or maybe these aren't that good choices?

Since moving to Germany I have started collecting these wonderful tea cups with matching saucers and plates from the second hand shops here. I ran into a lady yesterday that told me there was a wonderful history behind it, something about after the war, ladies would bring their own over to friends houses for coffee and such. I can not find anything on line about this history or tradition that she is talking about. Do any of you know anything about it? Much Peace

Has anyone ever been? Which ones? I especially love the ones at Cologne. They are so magical, I love walking around them smelling the gluwein and spices Mmmmm. A fantastic holiday if you love to celebrate xmas (and the Germans certainly know how to do that).

I have lived in Germany for 20 years and this happens so often I just accept it as a fact of life. You are waiting in a checkout line, at the bank, I could give dozens of examples, and then a GERMAN will just in cut front of you, And if you say something or Heaven forbid get angry they say to you 'Why are you being so aggressive?'. Very frustrating!

He is part of the Brittish Army, (Royal Artillery) stationed in Sennelager, Dempsey Barracks. He is a Lance Bombardier and his name is Donavan Young. He is about 1.75m tall, weighs about 85 kg's.... short, blonde hair and blue-green eyes, average build and usually hangs out at a place called "Saffo's"

If anyone knows or seen him - please tell him that he should call his ex girlfriend some time! She misses him and loves him! And wishes that he would come back home - where he belongs...

Thank you to all of you who do!

God bless!
