I just discovered that I have wasps flying into my house from the outside...they are not actually in our living space, but they are getting into the air draft holes in the mortar of my brick...will they cause any damage and how do I get rid of them if i can not actually see the nest...I am allergic to wasp/hornet/bee stings so I need to be extra cautious...can anyone give me a good inexpensive way to get rid of them without causing damage to the house...will they return in the spring if I live in Canada or should I just let the cold kill them off? Thank you for your help folks.

I wasn't sure where to categorise this question as it seems to span a large number of topics.

WHY IN NATURE DO THINGS TEND TO SPIN?
Why is it that a toilet will flush counter-clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and Clockwise in the Southern? Same deal with tornatoes, huricanes, and general weather patterns.
After the Big Bang why did matter group together and decide to form spinning galaxies? I've heard the moon was formed by a large asteroid hitting the earth, that seperated into a large chunk. Why did it start to revolve (or spin) around the earth instead of continuing to fly off into space? Are all these effects related to the same force? Is there a term in general science for this phenomenon? Or is this still a mystery? Thanks. I've allways wondered about this.

I grew up in southern Michigan. I spent my entire years as a kid, in the woods around my house. I used to build tree forts and roll on the ground in these woods and NEVER got a tick on me. I now live in northern Delaware and get at least one tick on me every time I go into the woods (including woods in PA and NJ). Same with my family members and my pets. My dog just tested positive for Lyme disease. I even get them in my back yard when mowing the lawn (one tree, no woods). Between living in Michigan and Delaware, I spent 8 years in Japan with the Military. Here is my question... Did the tick population in the US grow significantly while I was in Japan or does Delaware (PA and NJ) just have a way bigger tick problem than Michigan?

I have a 5 speed ceiling fan.
At the lowest speed level the fan is quiet fast.
I would like to reduce this.
How can it be done?

How could the technology boom of the past fifty years have been more useful to humankind if it wasn't driven by military or market forces?
