I have spent an hour trying to do this... please help.

Note: ^ means to the power of

f:x --> e^(1-x^2)

The minimum values of f(x), as x varies between 0 and 2, are m and M respectively.

Show that M-m = 2.67

So far i have differentiatied f:x to give me -2xe^1-x^2
dy/dx must = 0 fo a stationary points and so i know that when x = 0 there is a stationary point, but where is the other??

The number of yeast cells in a laboratory culture increases rapidly at first but levels off eventually. The population is modeled by the function below, where t is measured in hours. At time t = 0 the population is 30 cells and is increasing at a rate of 21 cells/hour.

n = f(t) = a / 1+be^-0.8t

a) Find values for "a" and "b"
b) According to this model, in the long run the yeast population stabilizes at ______ cells.

A semicircle with diameter PQ sits on an isosceles triangle PQR to form a region shaped like a two-dimensional ice cream cone. If A(theta) is the area of the semicircle and B(theta) is the area of the triangle, find: limit, as theta approaches 0 from the right, of A(theta)/B(theta). Sides of the triangle: side PR=10 cm, side QR=10 cm and side PQ forms the bottom of the semicircle. The angle of the bottom of the cone (corner R) is equal to theta.

f(x,y) =x^3 + xy - y^3.

I got:

f(0,0) = 0 ; saddle
f(1,-3) = 25 ; local min
f(3,1) = 29 ; saddle

am I missing any?

I'm learning about imaginary numbers in Algebra II right now, and I'm thinking, what's the point? If the numbers are imaginary and don't really exist, then why must we learn about them? When would we ever have to use these kinds of numbers in life, like in a job or career of some sort, if they're imaginary and don't exist?

34, 38, and 39. You cannot combine numbers like 12+34=36. Each number is used by itself. I figured out all 1-40, except these 3. Thanks. Can only use +, - , *, and /.
