Okay this question sounds pretty stupid but it's for my assignment in geometry. It's about putting triangles in application in real life so I thought the roof might be a good one.

If you can give a better example please do so and also put why it should be triangle ^^

In a school every pupil is classified into 4 groups to show which area they are from - these are named RUI, RUO, RDI, RDO

Then they are all given a whole number from 1 to 12 for academic ability

Next they are all given a whole number from 1 to 3 for sport ability

At the end they are given a grade A, B or C for musical ability

How many possible combinations are there?
e.g. RUI, 1, 1, A
RUI, 1, 1, B
RUI, 1, 1, C
