In a school every pupil is classified into 4 groups to show which area they are from - these are named RUI, RUO, RDI, RDO

Then they are all given a whole number from 1 to 12 for academic ability

Next they are all given a whole number from 1 to 3 for sport ability

At the end they are given a grade A, B or C for musical ability

How many possible combinations are there?
e.g. RUI, 1, 1, A
RUI, 1, 1, B
RUI, 1, 1, C

It is 4x12x3x3 = 432
4 ways for groups
12 ways for academics
3 ways for sports
3 ways for music
In total it is 432.

For Every Group {RUI, RUO, RDI, RDO}

Each of them Can get a number
from {1-12} for academic ability i.e. 12 different values
from {1-3} for sport ability i.e. 3 different values
from {A,B,C} for musical ability i.e. 3 different values

No of combinations of them would be 12*3*3 = 36*3=108
Now this is true for all 4 groups so total combinations
4*108=432

4 groups * 12 academic streams * 3 sport streams * 3 music streams: 4*12*3*3 = 432 combinations

since there are 4 groups...
now for 1 group:
for academic ability... they get 12 diff diff values k
for sports " " " " 3 " " "
for music 3 diff alphabetes right????
then for one group no. of combinations wil be ?????: its 12*3*3=108(since all are of diff types)

n now,there are 4 groups so,,,,


108*4=432.. hmmmmm.
