I have problem like this one: there is a relation like,
y=sgn(x)*(x-2); so here y is expressed as a function of x.
I want to express x as a function of y. How to do that? sgn(x)=|x|/x, (x not equal to zero).

Can you also tell me about any website other than yahoo answers where I can discuss my doubts concerning higher maths/physics?

My questio nis

I have the points (1,2) nad (-2,4) and I have to find the co-ords of a point that divides them in a ratio of 2:3

If my high school maths still stands by me, the distance is sqrt(13)

Is that even relevant, because how would I find the point ?
