I'm totally stuck with this problem...
A certain microwave oven delivers 750 watts (joule/s) of power to a coffee cup containing 50 g of water at 25 degrees C. If the wavelength of microwaves in the oven is 9.75cm, how long does it take, and how many photons must be absorbed to make the water boil? The specific heat capacity of water is 4.18J/Cg and assume only the water absobs the energy of the microwaves. Thanks so much!

(b)Calculate the mass of each gas.
(c)How will mass of each gas change after class is in it for 1h.
(d)At SATP, respirationg in a classroom converts about about 400L of oxygen per student par school day to carbon dioxide. 30 studetns per period of time and air is stagnant, what % of oxygen is consumed?

Could you please tell me why Ivory soap expands about 2 to 3 times it orginial size when put in the microwave for 2 minutes?

I know that the water molecules are aggrevaited by the heat produced in the microwave, but how does the soap expand?

When the microwave stopped producing heat, the size of the soap starts to decrease. Why is this?

Is it because the air trapped in the soap exscaped?

Please do not list the Stevens guy (or whatever his name is) I already have that information.
