True.
Stupid Fart Facts
* Farts are created mostly by E. coli.
* On the average a fart is composed of about 59% nitrogen, 21% hydrogen, 9% carbon dioxide, 7% methane, and 4% oxygen. Less than 1% is what makes them stink.
* The temperature of a fart at time of creation is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Farts have been clocked at a speed of 10 feet per second.
* A person produces about half a liter of farts a day.
* Although they won't admit it, women fart as much as men.
* Termites are the largest producers of farts.
* Farts are flammable.
* The word "fart" comes from the Old English "feortan" (meaning "to break wind").
* Excess gas in the intestinal is medically termed "flatulence."

It is true.
Farts may be used for things other than smelling up a room or easing that "bloated feeling." The active ingredient of fart gas is methane, which is flammable. It is also considered to be a greenhouse gas, so be careful when you fart around Democrats.
There was a performer in Paris at the end of the 19th century named Pujol; he had the stage name, "Le Petomaine" (In French, "the Fartist.") who blew a trumpet with a tube inserted into his... He was quite popular, I hear.
Lighting farts is more of a guy thing. It makes a bit of noise and is possibly dangerous. It might singe the hair or burn other important parts. In a dark room, there is a bit of light.
I do not know if a girl ever went into lighting farts.
The usual warning applies: "Do not try this at home."
I want to thank the asker for this question. It was fun to answer it and to read the other answers.

Yep.. sure is!
Farts are the by product of the bacteria in your instestine as they (the bacteria) process the food/waste that your body isn't using. This by-product can be methane gas. While not all farts are flamable, many are. Methane has been known to be a source of energy (ie, flamable) for years and there are some farms/industries that process the waste from animals to extract the methane and use that as fuel for power generation.
Methane gas is a that 'sour egg' smell gas so the stronger the smell, the higher the concentration of methane gas. This gas is not present in high enough quantities to be an explosion risk, but placing a match close to the 'exit point' and passing gas will make a nice flame. Extreme caution should be used in this experiement (ie, some good cotton underwear) as the heat generated can be rather high.
Anyway... yes... farts are flammable!
Hope this answers the question.
BTW: They stink too!

They are flammable. Nitrogen is the primary gas released. Methane and hydrogen, lesser components, are flammable, and so flatus is susceptible to catching fire. Not all humans produce flatus that contains methane. For example, in one study of the feces of nine adults, only five of the samples contained bacteria capable of producing methane

Farts ARE flammable. Many people have tested this theory and the truth has bitten them in the ***. Try it at your own risk.

Human farts contain some combustible gases - methane, organic chain molecules ending on -O-S ( they stink ), ...
The farts of some animals (e.g. cattle) can contain even more
combustible gases and are said to contribute to the greenhouse effect.
Do not try to ignite & burn a fart - I saw a clip of a guy that tried it.
It was kind of funny - but not for him.

Enough methane and yes, Methane is a significant and plentiful fuel which is the principal component of natural gas. Burning one molecule of methane in the presence of oxygen releases one molecule of CO2 (carbon dioxide) and two molecules of H2O (water):
