My question is which is neurologically faster, seeing or hearing?


My guess would be hearing due to the fact that your ears are much closer to the temporal lobe (the part of the brain that processes hearing) than your eyes are to the occipital lobe. This is just a guess though, I haven't found any info that supports it yet.

The burns detroy the dermis and epidermis. I think it has something to do with the fact the epidermis is there for protection and the dermis is composed of sensory neurons, blood vessels, muscle fibers etc.

Is it because many of the blood vessels are destroyed...?
