They do this to increase their points (albeit slowly) by playing against newbies and provisional players new to the game. This way you can become the most rated player ever without ever playing with players as good as you or better. There should be a rule which says, sure you can join the room and play against beginners rated 200 points less than you, but you get zero points if you win. Zero. Just my two cents.
