I think people are forgetting the initial stage of getting your PS2 online!! You need to first register your PS2 on the Sony website. This is done by inputting the manufacturers code which is located on the bottom of your PS2. You will then be asked for your details for example address, name etc etc. The tell them you want to get online with your PS2. You will be sent a pack with a CD that you need to install on your PS2. After this comes plugging in your network cable from your PS2 to your modem. You should be able to get online now!! The CD u need only takes a couple of days-I did it and they were very quick in responding to me. Welcome to SONY my friend! lol

Not true, The Sony online system is so poor you can connect with a Dial Up connection.

If you havent got a Slim line PS2, then you will need to buy a Modem, to put in the back.
You will also need an Ethernet cable (which should come with it)

If your looking to play onlne, scrap your PS2, buy a 360.
Best service, best games, best experience.
No point in going online with PS2 as its a crappy service, seems unfinished, maybe free, but why could that be?
Worse online sytem to date.

an I.S.P (internet service provider) and if it's an older ps2 you'll need to buy the network adaptor (modem) if you don't already have it. if it's a new ps2, the slim ones, it has a built in modem however you should know that the slim ps2 is broadband only. other than that you may or may not have to run that internet start-up disk that came with your ps2 just all depends.

everything the rest have said but also you need a PC to set up the broadband connection like i did when i joined BT, also if you have a slimline then you need to register it to get your network access disc to set up your PS2 and with the slimline there is a number on the back of your instruction manual you need when setting up your PS2 with the network access disc and Sony don't charge for networking with a PS2(unlike Xbox) but some games require a subscription

To add to what some others have said... in all the shops i have checked they stopped selling the stuff to connect it to the internet. Get a 360... the best online games service and the best games.

You must have an internet connection e.g ntl, bt...

Then you must either connect your ps2 (older version) to your computer via ethernet at the back of the ps2...

Or you can connect your ps2 (both versions) to your computer via USB...

Hope this helps
