In The Sims 1 on the pc, can you edit their interests via a cheat rather than reading magazines? I have tried cntrl+shift+c and typing interests but it only shows their interests and doesn't allow you to edit them.

I have a Morse 4300 sewing machine. I am completely new at this sewing thing, so I need a little help. I found a threading diagram and set it all up, and when I push the peddal down, it seems to sew in reverse, and with more threads per inch than is on the dial? When I hit the reverse button, it still goes in reverse, but the threads per inch seems normal. Is there a switch or something that I can fix this problem on my own?
