All the polls on sites, hype in the marketplace, and searches on wikipedia, suggest that, without a doubt, the wii is going to do better initially and may generate enough support so that even when Sony brings its price down, it will still be more popular than PS3.

In 5 years it will be intresting to see what happens since I predict that Sony and Microsoft will steal many of Nintendo's ideas, and put them into extremly powerful consoles! What will Nintendo do? Carry on with the same technology with improved graphics? Create a new way to play? I cannot answer those questions, but what is definate, is that Wii will do much better; PS3 has really shot itself in the foot with Bluray etc...

CHECK OUT MY SOURCE!! WII WAS 9th MOST SEARCHED THING!! PS3 WAS 71st!

Really I think that Nintendo is going out of international business soon. In Japan the DS is doing well, most people want the PSP but arn't willing to pay the price at the moment. The Playstation 2 did far better than the Gamecube due to the fact that it was aimed at a more mature audience and I think the Playstation 3 will be the same. As the parents have the paying power for these machines and the children don't it is far more likely that adults will buy the Playstation so that they may play on it too. I own pretty much all the games systems but I find that the Playstation is probably the most fun as it has a wide variety of adult games as well as the platform style kids stuff. Wait and see but I'm sure Nintendo will end up in the same boat as SEGA soon.

I'd like to think so! I'm purchasing one for myself and one of my younger family members. Popularity might help get some fun games out. PS3 is too expensive for family fun, and I've never owned anything PS, so it's a big leap to take. The Wii will enter in an attainable price range for parents to buy their children; as well as teens and college-age students (people who play games a lot) who don't make that much from P/T work. I do not think $600 is really what the average family expects to spend on a system that is not even a computer. The Wii--if I am not mistaken--will be released before PS3, this will give it some time to market and play up its freshness

It most defiantly will have a big following with the 12-16 year old category due to its games for kids and the price of the Wii is more in the price range of what most parents are going to spend this year for Christmas. But the PS3 is a better game system and will most likely make more money, but i think they will both be popular with the people that own them, the PS3 will be happy with their PS3 and the Wii people will be happy with their system. Now if were to ask witch one will be around for the long run i would say the PS3 because it is the better system overall.

well the wii snagged a bigger spotlight at the e3, much to the surprise of nintendo...and psp controller can only sense if you go up and down, and wii's controller can go in any direction...so the wii is more intuitive, more advanced, and costs a lot less...so i think that the wii will be more popular, but we'll have to just wait and see, won't we? = )

I dont' think so. The nintendo is more geard to the kiddies with its cheesy titles. I think the PS3 will be more in demand because most gamers are older and can afford to buy the new systems.

Isaac Daniell and James did not do their study! The wii is by using far the most person-friendly. WTF Isaac Daniell, the wi has bought pretty a lot as a lot as both the xbox 360 and PS3 mixed! look, do not pay interest to absolutely everyone who says that the PS3/Xbox360 are more beneficial person-friendly. they are in basic terms putting forward that because they prefer the ps3/360 more beneficial.
