Television - 22 August 2006

I see the same old commercials all the time. They play one, and they next time, they play it again. It just gets more and more annoying, We tape things, and just fast forward through them. I hate them. Aren't the commercial people just defeating themselves doing it this way?

It just seems we get the same old stuff. These situation comedies are not funny most of the time and then get bumped off. These are about the third grade level and with the laugh machines going. Don't you think it is time that we had better shows? I like comedies, but none of these so far are that funny. Do they try too hard, bad scripts and story lines, not deep enough? Where is the talent?

Far too much focus on Ian Beale, for a start. Isn't it hard to believe that any woman would ever, EVER want to shag him??

The programme's getting worse and worse, in my opinion. Give me good old Corrie any day!!!

Myself, I've been watching a lot less in 2006 so far since I made my New Year's resoultion to watch little or no TV. TV is just crap now, even the news is crap since they're corporatized, meaning owned by corporations. The only programs I watch is sports, that's it. Now, I mostly the radio as background noise whether it's my stereo or the internet. Who cares about the new CW network, I'm not watching it. People should focus on more important things than TV, such as rebuilding your social life if yours it's messed up. It'll get to the point that I'll donate my TV's to charity and use the time to focus on more important things.

I personally like, just to name a few, The Red Dot, The Subway, The Pez Dispenser, The Boyfriend, The Contest, The Bubble Boy, The Cheever Letters, The Heart Attack, The Revenge, The Deal, The Pony Remark, The Busboy, The Baby Shower, and The Jacket. There are many more that I like, some probably more than the ones I can think of. Yes, I am really 13 and I love Seinfeld.

I remember back in the early 90's when I was kid watching the original Mighty Morphing Power Rangers and every time they would go to their command base they would show a shot of this weird looking building with a tower like structure on top of which there's a hole through which the rangers would teleport. Now I'm pretty damn sure from what I've seen that the outside shots of this building were of an actual real-life building. Does anyone know where this building is? It's purpose? And if it still exists? Just curious.

I have just watched The Ultimate Bikini Guide on Channel 4 (UK). It was supposed to tell veiwers what the perfect bikini is for your body shape. I didn't learn anything and neither did my mother who was also interested. It was also supposed to show things from Big Brother and it didn't (well it showed Jade). It showed what you wear for big boobs, but not for small and it didn't really explain fully. I was wondering if you learnt anything and if so what?

when a tv show says " we are back for our 7 th season " or how ever many of seasons.... does that mean that show has been on for a full 7 years. I watch this one show and now hear them say 7 seasons.... I can not comprehend that 7 years has already passed.... there must be a difference in a tv season and a year.. Do any of you know how this works or am I lost in time....
