I think most people would agree that TV adverts are far louder than the TV programmes, and are so to grab our attention, but by being so annoyingly loud, surely it's making us use the remote to turn the sound down.
Rather than getting our attention by raising the volume, isn't it having the opposite desired effect, and making us turn the volume down to a level much lower than we had while watching a programme? If so, the TV bods should stop using this tactic - right?
