Since the outbreak of 'emo' I have been mistaken countless times for an emo. Just cuz I wear black, wear band shirts, paint my nails black and dye my hair, I am instantly stereotyped as an emo. Doesn't anybody know the difference between metalheads and emo's??

I'm ****** sick of it....so METALHEADS ONLY - have you ever been called an emo? F*cks sake....

Standardise the video formats worldwide? I've completely had it with region codes and formats... avi, mpeg, wmv, asf, grrrrr.... why not standardize everything? all over the world? don't tell me we aren't sophisticated enough to do that?

Your opinion?

People tell you not do do something, but then they do it.

Me and my parents are not close anymore. It use to be weird how close we use to be, but no longer. Trust me, it's not that i've changed, it's that i've realized the truth more or less about them, i just don't feel close enough to them to talk about anything. Like this guy i want to date, i cant even mention him to my mother. Because i know she'll just judge me, laugh and say no. Does anyone have this "broken" relationship. I kinda feel very alone when im around them..

That im not her little girl anymore, and that my friends mean alot to me. I just started a new school, and am now getting invited out to their houses for sleepovers and such. But my mom is soooo overly protective. I went over to my friends house for a sleepover last week, and it was great, i was safe and it all went smoothly. And now this weekend, i was invited out to go again. But now she's saying " your not going out two weekends in a row". RIGHT when im starting to get a social life, she's already putting an end to it. I'm VERY mad at her, and very upset. How can i make her see that theirs no logical reason for her doing this to her teenage daughter, who needs a social life! All she says is " because i said so". Im definatly a person who is happier when im around my friends, than when im around my parents, mainly because they are like this. Any ideas? thank you.

Hello, I have just left school and have got myself a job in an office. When I sat down this morning there was talk in the office about a 'strike' later in the year. I know that when people go on strike it means they sit outside their place of work and don't actually go in to work until something, usually wages, change.

But what does a strike entail? I rely on my wage for my rent and so don't want to miss any pay (I am happy with wages here), can I still work if I choose to during a strike? I really just need the money and can't afford to miss £35 a day, but I have heard if you try to go to work during a strike people don't like you. Would I be putting myself in danger? Do managers go on strike with the workers?

To be honest I am quite nervous and just want to know what to do- thanks.

PS, I am in the UK.
