Mine was Biology teacher, Miss Virginia Daniels, a wonderful old (single) woman, who lived up the street.
She made cell division and the mundane aspects of Biology interesting.
Last class of the day in 10th grade.
Worked in groups of 4.
I was only girl in our group. The guys spent their time harassing me, threw my Biology book in the classroom aquarium so I would get in trouble because the textbooks were brand new, but they got found out, another student, told on them. Got in a lot of trouble if we damaged a textbook.
Living in a foster home, made me equal or worse than poor. I lived in a Steel town, Steel made lots of income then. Miss Daniels sought the foster parents permission so I could volunteer as a Day Camp Aide during the Summer. I spent the next three Summers learning responsiblity, leadership and gaining some self-esteem. Many teens who were Day Camp Aides have very successful lives. She lived into her 90's.
