There have been times in my life that I wasn't sure I would survive, losing such a big chuck of my heart that I did, but I did. It isn't easy, but as the saying goes, "Time heals all wounds". That doesn't mean it ever goes away completely, just that is doesn't hurt as much and you don't think about it all the time.

Perhaps. I have never experienced it. If my wife and children were to die I'd probably die from stress.
