Mine was Biology teacher, Miss Virginia Daniels, a wonderful old (single) woman, who lived up the street.
She made cell division and the mundane aspects of Biology interesting.
Last class of the day in 10th grade.
Worked in groups of 4.
I was only girl in our group. The guys spent their time harassing me, threw my Biology book in the classroom aquarium so I would get in trouble because the textbooks were brand new, but they got found out, another student, told on them. Got in a lot of trouble if we damaged a textbook.
Living in a foster home, made me equal or worse than poor. I lived in a Steel town, Steel made lots of income then. Miss Daniels sought the foster parents permission so I could volunteer as a Day Camp Aide during the Summer. I spent the next three Summers learning responsiblity, leadership and gaining some self-esteem. Many teens who were Day Camp Aides have very successful lives. She lived into her 90's.

My orchestra teacher, Miss Pollard. (6th grade through the 11th). She has given me the gift of music. Nowadays, I'm trying to persue my music career. It's been 10 years since I graduated, I wonder what she's up to.

Mine was my fifth grade teacher. Mrs. Shaffer was her name and she was awesome. When I started in her class I was a very depressed kid. She always made me feel great about myself and even helped where other teachers could not. I was a straight A student except for handwriting. The only thing other teachers would say is to practice while Mrs. Shaffer actually noticed how I held the pencil and made suggestions on how to improve.

She was always exciting and motivating with classwork and extra stuff as well. Mrs. Shaffer was also extremely demanding, but in a non destructive way. She even used her own harder spelling tests because the ones the school had were too simple for her liking.

It's been so long ago, but the one that comes to mind is my 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Sydenham. She had a pet raccoon that she would bring to class on Fridays as a reinforcer when the class behaved/did well that week. She was also a real stickler on following directions and didn't take any non-sense from anyone. She retired many, many years ago and I found out that she passed away last year. She was a cool, white haired lady!

I had several different teachers that impacted my life. I'm lucky that way. My dad was transferred around a lot before I was in the second grade, when we finally moved into a permanent home. I was in one school system after that 'til grade 12. I should have done better than I did in school, but that's not my teacher's fault!
