In George Orwell's book 1984, the main character is captured and brainwashed by the government. They torture him until he admits that 2 plus 2 does not equal 4 but whatever they want it to equal (also 5).

If you were tourtured like this would you give in and say 2 + 2 is something else or keep your pride and die knowing you were right all along?

You go to the trouble of either "starring" or answering a question thoughtfully. The asker cant decide on a "best answer" so they put it to a vote.

Then you sit there and watch the thing stay in voting for WEEKS, just because the voting is TIED, and that the question won't resolve itself until someone ( the ASKER...hint..hint) comes along and breaks the tie???

And get this... sometimes they never do....sheeeeeeeesh
