Is it a crime to front someone money then get paid back more?

What if you're fronting them the money to buy illegal substances in large quantities, thus gaining more profit, but none of those substances fall onto your hands?

Have you ever been so upset in losing someone that it felt like a death, even though the person wasn't dead

My 18 year old daughter moved out-of-state yesterday and it seems like she will be back soon even though she won't and I have been going through all the stages of grief...
At the moment I have been beating myself up wondering if I did something different or tried harder that she wouldn't have left like she did. :(
