I am wanting to throw an appropriate type of family/friend style party for a female friend that has just completed an EMT course. She is 30 yrs old and has suffered ADD for most of her life and wasnt diagnosed or medicated until 7months ago, which made setting and completing goals impossible for her. Until now, this is the first acomplishment shes been able to reach. Quiting things almost as soon as they started was normal for her before the medication. This is soo much more for her than just a certification, this is the beginning of a way of life for her. Able to set and reach goals in life instead of never being able to go any farther than wanting goals. I want to celebrate this victory with my friend amongst people who also have seen her struggle and this new person evolve. Do you think this sort of gathering is appropriate? and what about a cookout style party playing horseshoes, washers, cornhole... Eating, socializing, cake and gifts. I'm open for other ideas/comments
