All of my friends are out of town, and I just moved to the city, and it really sucks here. All there is is a bunch of stupid people who think they are better than everyone else. What can I do?

Explore. Each day, pick a direction at random and just go. See what's out there. Occasionally: walk. Just walk around and see what's there. You see stuff from your feet that you can't see from a driver's seat. The cool stuff isn't on main street, and neither are the cool people. On main street are the blow-hards and wanna-be's, and all the people who just wanna be seen. Get off the main drag, hike downtown. There's some pretty interesting stuff going on around the corner from where all the 'pretty people' hang.

Sorry to hear that all your friends are out of town and that you just moved. Moving is one of the top ten stress levels. Just know that all those people who think they're better than everyone else are for the most part insecure. Just try to get to know them better. I'd also suggest you take on a part-time job or a volunteer position. Otherwise, read a good book and hang in there.

It takes time when you move to another area to make friends. However, no matter where you go there will be lots of intelligent, friendly, good people if you look for them. What can you do? For starters, get an attitude adjustment! And when you're bored? How about getting a job, work hard, learn something new every day, figure out what your purpose in life is, find someone who needs help and offer to assist them, volunteer in a hospital or nursing home facility. Read to improve your mind. There's no reason to be bored. It's up to you!
