I would like to find some songs about changes, preferably in one or more of these criterias?:
- Losing old friends that you were pretty close with
- Making new friends and becoming close with them
- Liking these changes
- Seeing how things have changed in just a few days or months
- Becoming happier
- Improving myself

I would also like it if it was R&B, but any is fine

Saw this video in mid to late 90's arround 1997

Female R&B artist. Video features city (manhattan sky line) which spins slowly to the music. As the video zooms out it appears that the entire city is spining about a central skyscraper.
Later in the video the city appears to be a spining record , I seems to remember the audio having a scratchy sound as if it were being played on a phonograph.

I would like to know the name of the artist and song

I read a lot of books. Lately I have been reading books by John Ringo who has a great new series out. The hero listens to a lot of Goth music and where I live in Sacramento, CA I am hearing from other people in my age group who seem to enjoy this type of music. Normally all I listen to is old time Rock 'n Roll, but I have no idea what Goth music is or where to go to listen to it. Please advise? Thx.

The song is a ballad. It sounds like "Ready for the World" but I don't think it's them. It starts "My baby went away. Seems it all started today. I guess that I was wrong. Think I'll call her on the phone, tooooo saaaaaaaay...I'm sorry, baby." The Chorus is "Doooooooon't go. (Don't go baby). Doooooooon't go. (I care for you girl)." Any help? Thanks.

It was a funk band. It had a big brass section (about 8 pieces) and a drumset. All instrumental. I'm dying to find them, because they were incredible. They appeared to be a pretty small local band.
