for the record, i'm not shallow. i don't like or dislike a song because of how the artist looks. i'm merely remarking on the fact that a woman with looks equivalent to neyo, t-pain, and the dream would NEVER make it into the industry. if she was a writer as well (as all three of my examples are also writers) we would only hear her name. if her music was outrageous enough, you may see her face, thus Missy Elliott. Men get eye candy, women get t-pain, the dream, and neyo. be for real.

I don't think Ne-Yo is that bad looking, and he sounds okay to me. As for T-Pain, he has a different style of singing. He is not your average, soulful singer. The guys are talented and they should continue to sing.

First of all beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Second of all, it should not be about how the person looks but whether or not you like the music. If you buy music strictly based on how someone looks, you are superficial.

I don't think being attractive has anything to do with being a singer. Some of the best singers in the world aren't that attractive, Luciano Pavorotti etc.
But if they can't sing, that's another story.

Assuming that the entire genre that they are in may be considered "unattractive" to many, I suppose one should appear as one does! And, I wouldn't put it passed most such alleged singers that they are able to scrawl even their own names, much less write decent music (or whatever passes for such, these days!).
Thus endeth the rant. ;)

what you're saying can't be true because these artists are selling lot of records . beauty is in the eye of the beholder. there are plenty(i mean plenty) of people who think these artists look GOOD.

None of those "R & B" folks are artists. That music isn't real music... doesn't use real instruments... uses voice enhancement software to cover up how crappy they really sing. If you want REAL R&B, listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan, not this crap you're talking about.

who said artists have to be good looking? that's a terrible idea. that how is we got the blond, talentless twits making all the money instead of real singers out there.
