The best on change would be David Bowie's song "Changes", obviously enough.
There's the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again", about political change, or lack thereof.
Billy Joel's "Movin' Out" was about changing one's life.
For that matter, "All My Exes Live In Texas" was about change, and losing old wives, if not friends.
About being happier, there's "I'm Coming Out" by whoever that was. I don't recall.
Crosby, Stills and Nash sang about losing friends in 1968 with "Ohio".... it was about more, but, hey, "what if you knew her and found her dead on the ground?"
Becoming happier is an old theme, even as far back as "Singin' In The Rain" and "On the Street Where You Live".
How things change in a few days... "What a Difference A Day Makes"....
Music is all about those things. About the only song I know that's not is "Unhappy" from the musical "The Producers".

Change, by Kimberly Locke, is the only one I can think of right now.
Big Girls Don't Cry, by Fergie, is about change and improving yourself.
