I am mellowing out tonight and listening to some old cd's. I found a cd I had forgotten I had called the Platters and the Drifters. A couple of drinks and this older music - how comforting and relaxing. (Iam 49) Yeah, I know OLD.

Yeah luv! I'm 46, an oldie too. How good are those old songs (and a drink to mellow with) ha? The great pretender, under the boardwalk, Saturday night at the movies who cares what picture we see........ Great stuff!!!!!

I remember the Platters. My favorite by them is The Great Pretender, though they had a lot of good songs.

l love that old music by the platters and drifters l'm not quite old enough to remember them but l do love hearing them on the oldies station.

those were great songs to dance to in high school and at prom. Does anyone remember Bill Haley and the Comets? Hey, and there's Elvis (who arrived on the scene later) and he hasn't left the building.

I remember them too.
But if you think that you are old at 49, I have news for you. You are still a kid because my oldest son is that age.
I am 70 and still kicking around.

I have their songs on my computer. I love me some good oldies. I'm 19 btw...But I listen to a variety of music.

no im only 25. they are a good group though. all the old motown and doo whop music is good.
