Music - 26 January 2007

I've loved music all my life, it is my life and career, but I've recently found that there's no new music out there that I've heard that seems to really excite me anymore -and I listen to quite a lot of it!

Am I just getting old or has new music become diluted to the point where nothing sounds particularly new and original and/or inventive any more?

Any suggestions for getting inspired again or any great new bands or artists that you can reccommend much appreciated -help!

I have ordered Peavey6 Mixer (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/p... and Shure58 Mic.

Now I need a power amp and some speakers (Or somebody told me there are power amp/speaker combos).

I am using this PA for just Vocals and want to heard over the an unmiced drum kit and in small to medium venue (less than 150 people).

Any suggestion on equipment? I'd personally like to spend less than 300-400 dollras, anyone know where to find deals, is used equipment ok?

I'm not really so much into the indie stuff, more into punk but I wanted to find an online station that plays new music, not all old stuff. It seems that Pitchfork media doesnt have a streaming station. Any suggestions? Thanks

I believe Madame Staples sings. Only caught some of it, but there are some ascending and decending chords at the end that are so very sad, but moving they make shivers.
I compare to Strauss'? "Death and Transfiguration" or some of Bernstein.
Also, there was some experimentation several years ago in RAP music, where keyboards went to violin and flute. I know BlackBirds, Handy, and others came with unique instrumental.
Does anyone have some music to share?
Twenty-five years ago, a young man gave me hip-hop that led to Rap. Anyone knows who was leading this trend?

I've just downloaded limewire and I want a tune. That's always the way, you think of a million songs you want to hear and as soon as I get limewire I forget them all! I don't really want any rap though, anything else will do.
