In scene...I believe is 31 on the dvd, when Raoul is tied to the bars on Phantom's lair, the phantom is raving about beside Christine and then starts to cross the water to go ot Raoul, they all begin singing at one and there is a word she says I cannot understand.

She 1st sings something about "false friend, fallen idol' (just so you know its close to the moment. And then its when she says "Such hopes we had and now those hopes are....." I cannot get the word that follows.

To my ears it sounds like soething around Shrewish cut, or shrewd, cut...but it doesnt make all that much sense. that is the sound it makes though. Anyone?

I understand Madonna is a genius at media distribution and marketting, MJ is very good at dancing and has the best voice of the 3, and Prince can play 17 instruments or something like that.
How do we gage their talent? Who wins?

Do you prefer that their songs sound like the album or is it better to hear them do a different version ?
Is it all about the show, crowd interaction, atmosphere - is lypsynching an acceptable trade off for a stunning dance routine or is it a total rip off (I think it's a total con !!!)
What do you enjoy at a concert ?
